So come out and and give the club a hand in preparing the MAC Track to to make this Year's IKF 4 Cycle Grand Nationals the best yet. Our Track is one of the best in the west. PKA Thank you to Racers, Vendors, and Volunteers PKA would like to extend a personal thank you to all of racers that attended to PKA’s MAC Track IKF region 6 Gold Cup events May 2-4 your cooperation and consideration truly made it one of the largest events Since the MAC Track was built in 1999. Thanks to the BAM racing Crew along with all of the vendors, workers and volunteers that made it happen. We hope to see all of our Karting family at the next Gold Cup hosted by the Snake River Karters May 23-25. Snake River Karters always have the welcome mat out for our karting families and this year is no exception. They will be ready for us. Some helpful items for the trip to Boise. Hotels: Shilo Inns have discounts for us too; Please use the PDXKART to get the discounted rate. CARPOOL, CARPOOL, CARPOOL. Pit space is limited and fuel costs are up so carpool to the track. Please have at least 2 or more karts per trailer and or pit spot to make room for everyone. Please help the club and pack it in tightly so that everyone can get in the pits. The track is short, fun, and fast 20 second laps. Don’t let this fool you it is technical and requires skill and finesse to get the quick lap times. A real thinker’s race track, it will exhaust you more in 15 laps than most any other track in the region. Weather: Almost always sunny and warm bring a sun hat and sunscreen. Bring lots of water and fluids to keep hydrated. If you are into skydiving they have a skydiving school and airstrip right next door.
IKF REGION 6 GOLD CUP THIS WEEKEND MAY 2-4 We have been working at the Mac Track the last several days and made some great improvements. Now we will be preparing for the IKF Region 6 Gold Cup at the MAC Track. The Yamhill County Fairgrounds will be Busting at the seams with activities and events this weekend. This is great news for the Fairgrounds and the McMinnville Community as we get to show off our great facility to not only our karting family but other people who may just become some of our future new members. So we ask all of our members to put out the welcome mat talk with the people that will be in the pits and remind them to get their armbands. There will be a large horse show Friday thru Sunday and then on Saturday night the Rocky Mountain Elk Banquet and our Gold Race. There will be people and cars everywhere. Unfortunately most all of the camping spots in the back lot have been given priority to the horse show. Arby’s will be manning the concession stands and will have breakfast ready for you. They will be adding PULLED PORK SANDWICHES to their full menu for this event. Stop by say hello and support them. With that in mind, the congestion and confusion and frustrations that could possibly happen. We were able to get permission to use the empty lot across the Lafayette for our parking. So the plan for the Gold Cup is. All of the parking and camping for the Karters will be in the lot across the street. There is ample room for everyone and the lot is scheduled to be mowed this week. The pits will be full and we ask that everyone will be able to squeeze in as much as possible so everyone can get a pit spot. We will be using a tractor to park trailers. We have permission to move some of the fencing to give us more area for pits.
Racers, Friends Help remember KJ Family, friends, Motorcycle and Karter alike are working together to keep KJ’s memory alive and to build the KJ McKinster Track Safety Memorial Fund The fund started by the McKinster family will be used to improve track safety for all tracks. Friends and fellow karters have designed 2 different helmet stickers in KJ’s memory and will have them available at local kart and motorcycle shops in the Northwest to help contribute to the KJ McKinster Track Safety fund. All donations and proceeds of the helmet stickers will be contributed to the fund.
