There will be 6 Gold Cup/Regional Sprint events in 2012. Schedule as follows:

April 27, 28, 29 Seattle Kart Club at TCKC
May 25, 26, 27 (Memorial Day Weekend) Tri City Kart Club
June 15, 16, 17 (Fathers Day Weekend) Portland Karting Assoc. @ Mac track
June 29, 30, July 1 PSGKA @ Tacoma
July 11-14, IKF 4 Cycle Sprint Grand Nationals at TCKC
August 17, 18, 19 West Coast Kart Club @ Chilliwack BC.
August 31, September 1, 2 (Labor Day Weekend) SKRA @ Spokane

Tires for Region 6 will be as follows:
MG reds for all 4 cycle classes and MG Yellows for all 2 cycle classes.

Rotax will continue to run the MOJO’s as per R-Max rules.

All of the classes that were run in 2011 will be run in 2012 with the exception of World Formula Masters which was renamed WF Super Heavy, driver must weigh 200lbs with all gear or be 40+.

The Rotax Max series will run each weekend as a 2 race per event weekend with the exception of Micro Max.

All single race day classes and all IKF 2 cycle two day classes will have one throw away in their 6 race series and the 2 race per event weekend Rotax classes will have 2 throw aways in their 12 race/6 weekend series.

The Rotax classes that run two races per event, will be allowed one set of tires per event weekend. If you show up to run Sunday only with new tires, you will have to run all practices and qualifying and start in the back of your heat race.

The other change made is that all drivers meetings at all tracks will be at 8:00 am. This will make it consistent at every track. No more guessing when practice starts and ends at each facility.

Fees for the events will remain the same as 2011 with the exception of Rotax classes that run two races. Their entry will be $140.00.

These rules are subject to change.... but most likely will remain the same until the 2012 conference.

Did they say what they are doing for Rotax fuel? Staying on local pump or moving to MS93?

Fuel for Rotax will remain pump gas as last year. The stations at the event location may change. We will know here shortly once the stations are submitted.
BMWEATER has relayed the information very well. Nicely done.
Got most everything of substantial change.
IAME Cup is still in.

Boise and Sumas opted not to host an event this year but reserved the option to host in 2012 as part of the Agreements of the member tracks clubs promoters of Gold Cup.

Unfortunately Westwood was not in attendance.

There is other developing news coming and will be posted in due time.

The way I understand it. There was a questionnaire sent out to the Rotax participants from the previous year about the question of the 2 single day events conducted this fall. Most all of the replies had indicated that Mini JR and Seniors supported the double event style.
While the replies from the Micro racers/parents felt more comfortable and more able to handle the tuning and racing on the 1 event over 2 days style. Understandably there were some on both sides of the fence for all classes but the way it was reported the member gold cup clubs and promoters voted for in 2012 for what the greater majority of responses indicated.

The $140.00 is to cover the additional sanction fees trophies etc.
Practice will be extra.

I think that the move to 6 races was in line with what the competitors wanted. An 8 weekend series is expensive to compete in, the move to 6 weekends just cut our GC budget by 25%.

I see it as a positive!

But my glass is half full :guiness: !
