I received this email from IKF, does this mean we're switching from MGs in the OSKCS races as well? What about rain tires? Also, for anyone who has used these tires before, what are they like?

Evinco Tire Selected as IKF Official Sprint Spec Tire for 2016 / 2017

New program launches partnership with Superkarts! USA

to grow and stabilize the sport.

The Board of Directors of the International Kart Federation is pleased to announce a new partnership with Superkarts! USA and Evinco Tires. For 2016 and 2017, the Evinco product line has been selected as the official spec tire of the IKF for the Sprint program.

“We are looking forward to working with Superkarts! USA and Evinco with our Sprint program for the next two years and we have high hopes for a positive and beneficial result for our members and drivers, Superkarts! USA, and the IKF,” stated Roger Miller, IKF President. “It’s been a pleasure working with Tom Kutscher and discussing the future of the sport on the West Coast and we’re excited at the opportunities that have been offered to fuel stability and growth within the IKF program. There’s a great deal of passion amongst us all and our shared focus is on growing the sport.”

“I’m excited to work with the IKF with a focus on stabilizing karting in the US, and especially here in California and on the West Coast,” added Kutscher, SKUSA President. “The launch of Evinco was motivated to provide stability for Superkarts! USA and bringing the IKF into the fold will only extend this positive effect further. We’re really fueled by our wish to grow the sport on all levels, and supporting the IKF is part of that plan.”

The new spec Evinco tires will be required for all IKF Sprint classes from January 1 onward. Class-specific tire selections are being completed and will be announced shortly based on the following available tire models:

Evinco Blue: 4.5/10.0-5 Slick
Evinco Blue: 6.0/11.0-5 Slick
Evinco Red: 4.5/10.0-5 Slick
Evinco Red: 7.1/11.0-5 Slick

The IKF elected to implement tire spec regulations in an effort to curb kart racing expenses, to foster a competitive balance in the sport, and to put greater emphasis on the driving skills of the participants.

The IKF has been a governing body for the sport of karting since 1957. Headquartered in Ontario, California, IKF currently publishes rules for speedway, sprint, and road racing kart platforms. There are 13 IKF regions that span across the United States and Canada.

Looks like Evnico are rebranded MG tires.
From Evinco's website

"As part of the continuing evolution of the Superkarts! USA platform, series principal Tom Kutscher is pleased to announce that the SKUSA Pro Tour and regional ProKart Challenge programs will be running a new spec tire in 2016 and beyond. In working closely with long-time partner, MG Tires, the two companies have reached a mutual agreement, which will see Superkarts! USA launching its own specific tire for competition: Evinco.

About The Evinco Tire
The tire will continue to be manufactured to SKUSA’s exact specifications by long-time partner, MG Tires. Over the past three years, MG Tires provided SKUSA with their custom-badged MG “SK” White tire for the Stock Moto and TaG categories, and this partnership will continue with the new Evinco line of tires. Evinco will be an exclusive brand and distributed only by Superkarts! USA."

We have not followed IKF's spec tires for some time at OSKCS or IKF races. The last couple yers, Hoosier has been the Spec tire while we used MG's. Previous it was Bridgestone yet we changed to MG's during that time frame.
